Hi, I'm Liz Greene, the heart and hands behind Kisanii -a name that means "creative" in Swahili.
Creativity has always been a part of who I am!
From the rhythm of music to the rhythm of a sewing machine, I've found joy in making things that tell a story!
My journey began with fabric-colors, textures ,and patterns that seemed to speak their own language. Over the years, quilting became not just a craft but a form of expression. Each piece I make holds a bit of heritage imagination and soul. I'm drawn to African fabrics, batiks and eco-friendly cork, which I use to create handbags and quilts that are as unique as the people who carry them.
Cork, in particular has captured my heart! It's soft yet strong, beautiful yet sustainable. I love pairing it with designer fabrics to create something unexpected and full of life.
I'm honored to be a part of the Amelia Island Quilt Guild, the Jacksonville Modern Quilt Guild and the Island Art Association, where I get to share my work and connect with other creative souls. When I'm not at my sewing table, you might find me with my viola in hand, lost in the music that inspires my designs.Every stitch, every note, and every idea I bring to life is guided by a love for beauty, culture and creativity-the true spirit of Kisanii!
